HMSI Visits IDP Camp, Makurdi in Collaboration with other Organizations Under the Civil Society Organization Benue State

Location: IDP Camp, International Market, Makurdi, Benue State.

Today, Health Medic Support Initiative, in collaboration with other organizations under the Civil Society Organization, Benue State, visited the IDP camp at the International Market, Makurdi, where over 4,000 displaced persons - mostly women, children, and pregnant women - now reside in heartbreaking conditions.

These are victims of the recent Yelewata massacre, forced to flee their homes in search of safety. What we saw was deeply distressing: families crammed into makeshift shelters, limited access to food, clean water, sanitation, and virtually no access to proper health care.

Despite the ongoing efforts of the government and some NGOs, the need remains enormous. The conditions are dire, and the suffering is immense.
